Data recovery from Germany
Safe shipment

Protect your hardware on its way to DataDoc.

Do not switch the affected device on again. Keep it dry, cushioned against impact and unable to move. Loose electronics also need antistatic protection.

Before packing

Switch off and leave the device unchanged.

Do not test, charge, open, dry, format or restart the device. Further recovery attempts can increase damage or overwrite recoverable data.

Eight clear steps

Pack it correctly.

  1. 1

    Protect each item separately

Wrap each part separately. Put loose electronics in an antistatic bag first, then add shock-absorbing cushioning.

  2. 2

    Leave space around the contents

Allow approximately 5 cm between the contents and the outer box on every side. Cushion the base, sides and lid completely.

  3. 3

    Prevent movement

Fill all empty spaces. Nothing should move inside the closed box during a gentle shake test.

  4. 4

    Keep parts apart

Multiple devices must not touch each other. Place heavy items lower down and sensitive components in the centre.

  5. 5

    Include the accompanying form

Enclose your case number and name clearly. Never place passwords, PINs or device unlock codes openly inside the parcel.

  6. 6

    Seal securely

Seal all seams and load-bearing edges with strong parcel tape at least 5 cm wide.

  7. 7

    Attach the label

Remove old barcodes. Attach the agreed printed shipping label flat on the largest surface and do not cover the barcode with tape. Alternatively, use the official mobile code under the carrier’s instructions; the two options are for the same shipment.

  8. 8

    Keep evidence

Photograph the parcel before handing it over. Retain the posting receipt and tracking number until DataDoc confirms receipt.

For your hardware

Additional protection for sensitive components.

HDD

Use an antistatic bag and thick, shock-absorbing cushioning. Do not place stress on the connectors or circuit board.

SSD, USB and SD

Protect against bending and crushing. Place small media inside an additional rigid, closed inner box.

Laptop or MacBook

Protect the full surface of the display and case. Include the power supply only if requested, packed separately.

Phone or tablet

Switch it off, protect the display and prevent accidental activation.

NAS or RAID

Pack each drive separately and label it clearly with its slot position. Photograph the drive order beforehand.

Logic board or circuit board

Use an antistatic bag and a rigid inner container. Do not apply pressure to connectors or components.
